Membership of the Club is open to all. The 2018 membership subscriptions are as follows:
Gentlemen £40 full membership
£35 part time membership
Ladies £30 full membership
£27 part time membership

The Club Constitution is as follows;

NAME OF THE CLUB
(1) The name of the club shall be:-
STOCKSBRIDGE FRIENDSHIP BOWLING CLUB
(hereafter referred to as the Bowling Club)

BOWLING CLUB COMMITTEE
(3) The committee who are responsible for the organisation and affairs of the Bowling Club will consist of the following and be elected annually at the annual general meeting.

Club Secretary
Club Treasurer
Club Competition Secretary
plus
2 – Club Members
* the position of Club President is a non executive role.
COMMITTEE OBJECTIVES
(1) To conduct the affairs of the Bowling Club in accordance of the rules within this booklet.
(2) To handle all complaints when received in writing through the Bowling Club Secretary, and to resolve them in the best interests of the Bowling Club
(3) To assist the Treasurer in the receipt of fees, subscriptions or other appropriate monies when or where required.
(4) To ensure that all Members conduct themselves in a manner which will promote good harmony within the Bowling Club rules.
(5) To afford its Members the opportunity to enjoy the game of bowls in a spirit of good fellowship and good sportsmanship.
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND FEES
(1) Annual subscriptions shall be decided by the Members at the AGM
(2) Payment of Bowling Club annual subscriptions must be paid by 30th April each year.
(3) Any Member not paying their subscriptions by this date will be deemed a lapsed Member. This disqualifies the person from bowling at the Friendship Green, or representing the Bowling Club in any league or competition.
OTHER FEES
Registration and Affiliation Fees
(1) Registration with British Crown Green Association.
New Members registration fee will be paid from their first years subscriptions.
(2) Affiliation Fees
Individual Members affiliation fees to Associations such as:-
SYCGBA
SHEFFIELD & DISTRICT PARKS B.A.
SHEFFIELD & HALLAMSHIRE B.A.
SHEFFIELD & DISTRICT SOCIAL CLUB etc
- will be paid by each Member and will be collected by the appropriate addition to the Member’s annual subscriptions.
VISITING SOCIAL PLAYERS
The Member who invites the playing guest will be responsible for collecting and paying to a Committee Member the appropriate fee. The cost to be displayed by a notice in the pavilion.
USE OF FLOODLIGHTS FOR SOCIAL BOWLING
Members who use the floodlights for social bowling should ensure the appropriate fee is paid to a Committee Member. The cost of floodlight bowling and rules to be displayed by a notice in the pavilion.
TREASURER
(1) Will be responsible for the collection of all subscriptions and monies from Members.
(2) All monies to be paid into a bank cheque account.
(3) All cheques for payment from the account must be signed by the Treasurer, plus one of two nominated Members.
FEES FOR MATCHES
Away Games
The team captains shall be responsible for the payment and written receipt of green fees. A float for this purpose will be issued by the Treasurer.
Home Games
The team captains shall be responsible for the collecting of green fees and the issuing of written receipts.
LEAGUE BOWLING ACTIVITIES
Team membership
(1) Captains and Vice Captains for each team to compete in the various leagues will be appointed at the AGM for the following season.
(2) People who want to become a Team Member should declare their willingness to participate.
SELECTION OF TEAMS
The Team Captain will pick the playing Members for each game with the aim of fielding the strongest side.
Any Member wishing to instigate a competition must give seven days notice to the Committee via the Competition Secretary.
Ten percent of any monies raised during a floodlight or open competition, along with returns from refreshments should be given to the Treasurer.
GENERAL
The Club AGM shall be held on the first Monday in November.
The green will open on the first Saturday in April – weather permitting and close on the last Saturday in September.
Any proposed alterations/amendments to the rules must be submitted in writing to the Club Secretary, at least 7 days prior to the AGM.
Alterations/amendments will be voted on at the AGM.
Any minute proposed and passed at the AGM will remain a valid minute until the following AGM. However, if a Member feels there is cause to amend a minute, they must give 28 days notice in writing, with a seconder, to the Secretary.
The Committee, if they deem it to be in the interests of the Club, may convene an extra ordinary general meeting, at which Members can vote on an urgent matter not covered in the rules or requiring a minute amendment.
This will only apply if it is impractical to wait until the AGM.
If such a meeting is convened, a minimum of 7 days notice and publicity is to be given to enable the maximum number of Members to attend.
In the event of the Bowling Club winning any Association trophies the Bowling Club will purchase two presentation night tickets. The value of these to be shared amongst the number of Members wishing to attend the presentation night.
THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE CLUB SHALL CONSIST OF –
Any person of good character shall be eligible for election as a Member.
A candidate for election as a Member must be proposed by one and seconded by another Member.
Each Member shall be furnished with a card of membership and their name written thereon.
Every Member shall, together with their membership card, be provided with a copy of these rules and shall be bound by them in all respects.
The Club shall be bound by the rules and laws of the British Crown Green Bowling Associations.
